Enterprise Platform

As a Full-Stack Engineer at a global manufacturing enterprise, I am part of the core team building a unified internal application platform and the manufacturing operations application built on top of it. Together they move the business from fragmented standalone tools to a connected digital ecosystem.

The Platform

A multi-tenant PaaS platform for internal applications, dashboards and shared services. It acts as a single entry point with shared identity, enabling standardization, faster delivery and scalable growth through reusable services across digital teams.

Strategic Goals

  • Consistent user experience: Standardizing UI/UX across internal tools.
  • Less duplication: Reducing integration effort through shared architectural patterns.
  • Better visibility: Breaking down data silos via a shared data tier.
  • Faster scaling: Reusing common services to roll out quickly to sites worldwide.

Manufacturing Operations Application

A custom-built application for manufacturing operations, built on the platform to deliver a consistent digital experience.

Why Build In-House

Off-the-shelf tools could not fully meet the specific needs of our manufacturing sites. Building in-house let us incorporate direct feedback from frontline users and deliver the features that were previously missing.

Core Capabilities

  • Tiered Manufacturing Support: Toolkits for every operational level, from site down to individual work centers.
  • Interactive Visual Platform: Near real-time performance metrics for fast, data-driven decision making.
  • Deep Integration: Connects with enterprise systems such as MES, data platforms (e.g. Snowflake), BI tools and Grafana.
  • Enterprise SaaS Features: Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), multi-site tenant design and zero-downtime upgrades.

Impact

These systems address inconsistent UI/UX, fragmented system access and high long-term maintenance costs, helping users make data-driven decisions that improve efficiency and productivity across a global manufacturing footprint.
